TERMS OF SERVICE.

Reciped is a recipe app operated by Reciped Inc., a company incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act with its head office in Ontario, Canada. These terms are the agreement between you and us, and they cover the website, the mobile app, and anything else we run that links here.

Using Reciped means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. Our privacy policy explains what we do with personal information and forms part of this agreement.

You need an account to save, like, comment, follow, import recipes, or use Cook Mode. Published recipes are readable without one.

• You must be at least 13. If you are in a place where a higher age applies to online services, that age applies to you instead.
• Give us accurate details when you sign up, and keep your email address current. It is how we reach you about your account.
• Your password and your session are yours to protect. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.
• One account per person. Do not sell, rent, or hand your account to anyone else.

You can delete your account at any time from settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and it takes your recipes, comments, images, and history with it. There is no grace period and no undo.

You keep every right you already have in the recipes, photos, comments, and other material you post. We do not claim ownership of your cooking.

To run the service we need your permission to handle that material, so you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display, adapt, and distribute what you post, for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting Reciped. Adapting covers the ordinary mechanics of a recipe app: resizing an image, generating a preview, indexing a recipe for search, estimating nutrition, and rendering a printable version.

If you publish a recipe, that licence extends to showing it publicly, including to people without accounts and to search engines and assistants that crawl the site. Deleting content, or your account, ends the licence going forward. Copies that other people have already printed, saved outside Reciped, or that sit in third-party caches are outside our control.

Only post material you have the right to post. By posting, you confirm you do.

Do not use Reciped to:

• Post anything illegal, or anything that sexualises a minor. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities and preserve the related records, without notice to the account involved.
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone, or post someone else's personal information.
• Post spam, run ad schemes, or manipulate likes, saves, follows, or search rankings.
• Post recipes that are unsafe by design, or instructions meant to cause harm.
• Break, probe, or overload the service, evade rate limits, or scrape it in ways our robots.txt disallows. Crawling the public recipe pages is welcome and documented at llms.txt.
• Reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing dataset, except where the law says you may regardless.

Reciped can pull a recipe out of a web page, a video, a PDF, or a photo of a printed page, and turn it into a structured recipe in your account. Free accounts get a monthly allowance and PRO removes the cap. Current limits are listed on the plans page.

Import it only if you have the right to. Recipe methods are generally not protected by copyright, but the writing, photography, and video around them usually are. An imported recipe lands as a private draft. Keeping it for your own cooking is one thing; publishing someone else's work as your own is not, and doing so breaks these terms.

Extraction is automated and imperfect. Check quantities, timings, and temperatures against the source before you cook.

Cook with your own judgement. You are responsible for what you make and eat.

Recipes on Reciped are posted by people, not tested in a lab. We do not verify that a recipe is safe, that its timings cook food through, or that its ingredient list is complete. Follow safe food-handling practice, especially with meat, eggs, seafood, preserving, and fermentation.

Allergies: ingredient lists can be wrong or incomplete, and imported recipes inherit whatever the source said. If you have an allergy or intolerance, verify every ingredient yourself.

Nutrition: figures shown are estimates produced by an AI model reading the recipe’s ingredients. They are not looked up in any food-composition database and no part of them is verified. They depend on the model’s judgement, portion sizes, and how you actually cook. They are not medical or dietary advice, and should not be relied on for managing a health condition. Talk to a qualified professional for that.

Reciped PRO is a paid subscription. The price and what it includes are on the plans page, and the price shown at checkout is the price you pay.

• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each period until you cancel. You authorise us to charge your payment method each renewal.
• Cancel any time from settings. Your PRO features run to the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account drops back to free. We do not pro-rate part-periods.
• If a payment fails we may retry it and, if it keeps failing, end the subscription.
• We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Nothing here limits refund or cancellation rights you have under consumer protection law where you live, including Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and Quebec's Consumer Protection Act.

Free accounts see ads, which is what keeps the free plan free. PRO removes them. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers. The privacy policy covers what advertisers do and do not receive.

We review images automatically before they are published, and we act on reports and on what we find ourselves. If content breaks these terms we may remove it, limit its reach, or refuse to publish it.

We may suspend or close an account that repeatedly or seriously breaks these terms, or where we must to comply with the law or protect other people. Except where the law or an urgent safety concern says otherwise, we will tell you why, and you can reply to [email protected] to contest it.

If we close a paid account for reasons that are not your fault, we refund the unused part of the period.

The Reciped name, look, software, and the parts of the product we built belong to us. These terms do not give you rights to them beyond using the service as intended. Third-party data we use, such as public food-composition databases, remains under its own licence, and we credit those sources in the product.

We are building this product actively. Features change, and some will be removed. We will give notice of changes that materially reduce what a paid plan includes, and you can cancel if you do not want to continue on the new terms.

We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error free. Maintenance, outages, and dependency failures happen. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose, which you can produce at any time with the data export in settings.

Except for what we promise in these terms, the service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you for all claims in any 12 month period is limited to the greater of what you paid us in that period and CAD 100.

None of this applies where the law does not allow it. Consumer protection legislation gives you rights a contract cannot take away, and they survive this section untouched. Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 voids any term that purports to sign away the protections it grants. If you live in Quebec, the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code do the same, including for bodily or moral injury and for gross or intentional fault.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and disputes go to the courts of the Province of Ontario. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring a claim where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of your own jurisdiction still apply.

There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver here, on purpose. Section 7(2) of Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 makes an arbitration agreement invalid against a consumer and section 8 preserves the right to join a class proceeding, and Quebec law reaches the same result for consumers who live there. Putting either clause in would be unenforceable against the people it was aimed at.

Talk to us first. Most disputes end faster over email than in a courtroom.

We update these terms as the product changes. For material changes we will tell you before they take effect, by email or in the app, and the effective date at the top of this page always shows the current version. Continuing to use Reciped after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, you can close your account.

If a clause here turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it to a company that takes over the service, and we will tell you if that happens.
